Hudson Hawks Youth Football has partnered with Hudson Community Education and Recreation to offer a fall youth flag football program for children entering kindergarten through second grade.
The program is designed to teach the game of football to youngsters through participation in a structured flag football league.
"The Hudson Hawks are very pleased to partner with HCER for the 2018 football season," Hudson Hawks president Mike DeLeo. "We are especially excited as we work together to introduce the Hawks new flag football program for this season."
This program enables coaches to teach football skills and techniques to the youngest players without full contact. Once players have completed this flag football program, they will be well prepared to move on to Hudson Hawks Youth Football, which includes a full contact football league for grades 3-6.
The Hudson Hawks Flag Football league is scheduled to begin practices in August. Practices are set to take place at the Hudson City Schools fields. All games are scheduled to be played in Hudson and game uniforms will be provided to each registrant.
"HCER is pleased to work with the Hudson Hawks to offer registration for the Flag Football program," HCER director Meredith Zaffran.
Parents can register flag football players in kindergarten through second grade using the HCER online registration system at www.hudson.k12.oh.us/hcer. They also may register at the HCER office at 2440 Hudson Aurora Road.
The Hudson Hawks Youth Football is a non-profit organization formed in 1980 with the purpose of providing an organized, competitive and safe program, designed to afford the youth of Hudson an opportunity to learn the game of football.
