Aurora High School recently had its spring sports awards ceremony.
Six baseball players earned Suburban League American Conference honors.
Jacob Blue and Evan Fromwiller were named to the first team and Chase Coady and Chris Rote were named to the second team. Will Carpenter and Michael Sapp received honorable mention.
Eight softball players earn all-conference honors.
Aleese Angelo, Tayler Cassidy and Julia Mazanec were named to the first team and Hailey Bodine, Becca Crawford and Kelci Fleming were named to the second team. Rachael Dudziak and Ariane Ugran received honorable mention.
The tennis team had three players earn all-conference accolades.
Dan French was named to the first team and Mike French and Andrew Sobodosh received honorable mention.
Several members of the boys track and field team captured all-conference recognition.
Robbie Taylor earned first-team honors in the 3,200-meter race and second-team honors in the 1,600. He also received honorable mention as a member of the 3,200 relay team.
Graham Aldredge, Jacob French, Robby Lamport and Michael Kaplan were named to the second team as members of the 1,600 relay team.
Jimmy Kish earned second-team accolades in the 300 hurdles and 400 relay team members Jordan DeMicco, Javonte Doughlas, Jacob Mancini and Will Owens received honorable mention.
Jacob French, Kaplan and Lamport also were part of the 3,200 relay team that received honorable mention. Owens earned honorable mention in the high jump.
The girls track and field team also was well-represented by the conference.
High jumper Leah Angelo, pole vaulter Corinne Henderson and long jumper Brianna Rawlings were named to the first team.
Rawlings, who also was a member of the 800 relay team that received honorable mention, was named the American Conference co-Athlete of the Year in the field events.
Katy Fellenstein, Madeline Schmitt, Marissa Sesny and Karsen Zabell earned second-team honors as members of the 3,200 relay team.
Skylar Joslyn, Morgan Riedel, Olivia Ryncarz and Sesny also were named to the second team as members of the 1,600 relay team.
Receiving honorable mention were 800 relay team members Julia Brezovec, Jane Puzder and Riedel, Sesny (800), Chayanne Conley (shot put), Fellenstein (1,600) and Ila Kerchenski (3,200).
Head softball coach Sam Petrash, who guided Aurora to a three-way tie with Highland Tallmadge for the American Conference title, was named the Coach of the Year.
