Some members of the Cuyahoga Falls boys track and field team participated at the Suburban League Championships Tuesday at Nordonia High School’s Boliantz Stadium in Macedonia.

The competition was scheduled to conclude Thursday. Results were not available at press time.

Ryan Freeman captured third in the discus with a throw of 134 feet, 6 inches.

The 3,200-meter relay team of Matt Hammonds, Andrew Kuntz, Bronson Luksza and Jack Wilcoxson placed eighth in 8:16.38.

The Black Tigers finished in a six-way tie for 17th place with 10 points at the 38th Optimist Meet Saturday at Austintown-Fitch High School’s Greenwood Falcon Stadium.

Fitch won the 35-team competition with 80.5 points.

Wilcoxson captured fifth in the 3,200 with a clocking of 9:45.65.

The 3,200 relay team of Hammonds, Kuntz, Eric Czetli and Tony Sondles also placed fifth in 8:48.15.

Luksza finished eighth in the 1,600 in 4:39.03. Falls’ other eighth-place finish came from the 400 relay team of Isaiah Campbell, Christian Casto, Daizhaun Brazile and Jordan Williams (46.69).

The Black Tigers are scheduled to compete in a Division I district meet this Wednesday and Friday at Nordonia. The competition is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. both days.
