Despite a slow start, the Hudson boys lacrosse team appeared to have righted its ship midway through the fourth quarter.

And then things completely unraveled for the Explorers.

Hudson fell to 9-5 on the season after losing to University 10-8 Tuesday in Hunting Valley.

The Explorers trailed 6-4 at halftime, but they rallied to take a 7-6 lead in the fourth quarter.

Unfortunately, the Preppers (9-3) scored four goals in the final six minutes to put it away.

Brady Ludewig scored three goals and Merrick Widdoes and Blake Lori contributed two goals and one assist apiece for Hudson.

Anthony Rightnour also scored for the Explorers and Hudson goalie Matt Withem finished with 12 saves.

The Explorers outshot University 45-26, but the Preppers had a 17-12 edge in ground balls.

Both teams won 10 face-offs and Hudson committed 17 turnovers. University finished with just five giveaways.
