The Hudson softball team’s postseason has come to a heartbreaking end.

The seventh-seeded Lady Explorers lost to 10th-seeded Copley 6-5 in a Barberton Division I sectional semifinal game Wednesday at home.

"We had some opportunities with six walks, but just weren’t able to capitalize," Hudson head coach Jeff Kurtz said. "We left several runners on and were caught stealing twice and were picked off once.

"It was a difficult loss for everyone, especially our seniors."

The Lady Indians jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but the Lady Explorers (12-12) rallied with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

However, Copley scored what turned out to be the winning run on a passed ball in the fifth.

The Lady Indians finished with nine hits and two errors. Hudson had six hits and three errors.

Right-hander Mariah Duncan took the loss in the pitcher’s circle. She allowed three earned runs in 3-? innings of work. Duncan finished with four strikeouts and one walk and allowed eight hits.

Olivia Stefanoni had a hit, two RBIs and a run scored and leadoff hitter Madison Roukey finished with a single and two RBIs for the Lady Explorers.
