The host Aurora softball team earned a 2-0 victory over Cleveland St. Joseph Academy Tuesday.

Rachael Dudziak pitched a complete-game, three-hit shutout for her first win of the season.

"She was able to locate her pitches and change speeds," Lady Greenmen head coach Sam Petrash said. "She fed a strong defense that helped preserve the shutout with a well-executed relay by Lauren Callahan, Hailey Bodine and Aleese Angelo to cut an early go-ahead rundown at the plate in the fourth inning."

Aurora, which finished with just two hits, didn’t score until the bottom of the sixth inning.

Tayler Cassidy led off the inning with a first-pitch home run over the left-field fence. Angelo was then hit by a pitch and eventually scored on a sacrifice bunt by pinch hitter Jessica Pajek.

"We faced a pitcher who was equal to the task and did a nice job of keeping our hitters off balance," Petrash said.
