The Western Reserve Academy wrestling team finished seventh with 97 points at the 19-team Hawken Invitational, which took place Friday and Saturday in Gates Mills.

Andover Pymatuning Valley won the competition with 234 points and Brecksville-Broadview Heights (183.5) and Independence (154) placed second and third, respectively.

Five Pioneers placed in the top six. Leading the way was heavyweight Francesco Borsellino, who had four first-period pins on his way to a first-place finish.

Chris McCollom was the runner-up at 113 pounds. Also placing for Reserve were Roman LaBrosse (fifth, 195), Matt McCaffrey (sixth, 106) and Daniel Leis (sixth, 182).

"I'm proud of the kids' early-season effort and performance," WRA head coach John Gordon said. "We have work to do, but everyone does. We'll get better."
