The host Western Reserve Academy boys and girls swimming and diving teams lost to Akron Archbishop Hoban in their season openers Wednesday.

The boys lost 97-80 and the girls suffered a 114-63 defeat.

* 200-yard freestyle: Will Downing, second, 2 minutes, 8.4 seconds

* 200 indvidual medley: Kevin Escott, first, 2:24.01

* 50 freestyle: Phillip Kuri, first, 25.92; and Ethan Shockey, second, 28.28

* Diving: Jack Sovich, first, 170.15 points; Tommy Awender, second, 156.6; and Blake Birch, third 149.15

* 100 butterfly: Jaxson Bick, third, 1:13.97

* 100 freestyle: Kuri, second, 57.12

* 500 freestyle: Downing, first, 5:43.19

* 200 freestyle relay: Kuri, Bick, Downing and Escott, first, 1:40.96

* 100 backstroke: Brandt Aker, second, 1:27.32

Girls

* 200 medley relay: Lauren Landry, Alicia Ma, Libby Russ and Maggie Corl, first, 2:11.06

Both teams are scheduled to entertain Bainbridge Township Kenston Dec. 8 at 4:30 p.m.

They are set to compete at the Hiram Holiday Meet Dec. 9 at Hiram College Alumni Memorial Pool. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
