Aurora Seniors meet weekdays in the Walker Building. Among activities are: Gentle yoga Fridays at 10 a.m., Arthritis Foundation exercise Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:30 p.m., bingo Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., chair volleyball Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 1:45 p.m.
Also, there are watercolor painting Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m., knitting Thursdays at 1 p.m. and penny poker, canasta and euchre Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m.; walking videos Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9 a.m., beginning Tai Chi on Thursdays at 9 a.m. and mahjong lessons Wednesdays at 1 p.m.
Other activities are blood pressure and glucose screenings the first Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. Massage with Susan Lund will be June 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Manicures and pedicures will be June 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Podiatrist Dr. Lara Poduska also visits the center from time to time.
A potluck luncheon for those with birthdays in April, May and June will be June 26 at noon. Lunch and music on the patio will be June 28 at noon and lunch and Bingo at the Avenue at Aurora will be June 30 at 11:30 a.m.
Trips coming up are: June 18 -- lunch bunch to Olive Garden; June 19 -- lunch bunch to Olive Garden; June 20 -- Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton; June 22 -- Palace Theater for "An American in Paris"; June 29 -- Indians game vs. Texas Rangers; July 9 -- Porthouse Theater for "Ain't Misbehaving'"; July 17 -- lunch bunch at London's Pickle Works in Brecksville.
July 19 -- Cleveland Botanical Garden and concert on the oval; July 24 -- pontoon boat ride at Portage Lakes; July 25 -- Cleveland Institute of Music brown bag concert; July 26 -- Indians game vs. Angels; July 30 -- Porthouse Theater for "Newsies"; July 31 -- shopping at Crocker Park in Westlake; Aug. 2 -- Nautica Queen oldies luncheon cruise; Aug. 14 -- Ethnic market tour of Cleveland.
The parks-rec department is in the Walker Building on West Pioneer Trail. Hours are weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
