Furman (S.C.) University sophomore Ryan Adams, a Hudson native, qualified for the NCAA Championships after his performance at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships East Preliminaries May 27 at the University of Kentucky.
Adams, a Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy graduate, finished seventh in the quarterfinals with a time of 3 minutes, 47.32 seconds in the 1,500-meter race to advance to the semifinals, which are scheduled to take place June 7 in Eugene, Ore.
Adams placed 10th in the first round with a time of 3:50.37 May 25.
Adams entered the event ranked 15th in the East with a top time of 3:42.9 this season.
The Paladin record holder with a time of 3:42.25, Adams notched his qualifying time at the Raleigh (N.C.) Relays in March.
