Stow boys volleyball honored ahead of postseason

The Stow-Munroe Falls boys volleyball team lost its regular season finale May 17, losing 15-25, 11-25, 25-23, 12-25 at Cleveland St. Ignatius. Stow finished the regular season at 16-7.

However, Stow was honored with several regional awards by the Ohio High School Boys Volleyball Association.

Senior hitter Hayden Baer was named North Region player of the year, while senior hitter Justin Sibbel was named to the region's first team and junior setter Wes Gray was given honorable metion. Bulldogs coach Matt Snyder was selected for the Coaches Achievement Award.

Stow was given the No. 2 seed in the North Region playoff bracket behind St. Ignatius. The Bulldogs will open the playoffs vs. Massillon Jackson May 23 at 5 p.m. at Walsh Jesuit High School.

Bulldog Basketball camp returns

The annual Bulldog Basketball Camp for boys entering grades 3-9 will be June 12 to 14, from 8AM to noon daily. The camp will be under the direction of Stow-Munroe Falls High School head coach Dave Close.

Camp highlights include individual skill stations, daily individual and team competitions, a shooting clinic and opportunities to participate in numerous competitions. Each camper will receive a Bulldog Camp T-shirt. Campers will be grouped within their own age group and ability level.

Lady Bulldog Basketball Camp upcoming

The 2017 Lady Bulldog Basketball camp will take place May 30 and 31 and June 1 at the James G. Tyree Gymnasium at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. Camp will run daily from 9 a.m. to noon.

Cost per camper is $70.

Girls lacrosse campscoming to Stow

Midwestern Force Lacrosse will host a series of girls lacrosse camps at Stow-Munroe Falls High School this summer.

The Ohio Girls Lacrosse developmental camp is open to girls entering grades one through five this fall. Cost is $125 for the summer.

The Ohio Regional Team middle school summer development camp is open to girls entering grades six through eight this fall. Cost is $150 for the summer.

Camp will run from 6 to 8 p.m. nightly. Clinic nights will take place June 7, 8, 12, 13, 21,22, 28 and 29 and July 12 and 13 at the high school.

There is also an option for a pre-season clinic June 11 in Columbus.

All clinics will be run by professional instructors. No tryouts or previous experience is necessary.
