The Western Reserve Academy boys track and field team concluded its season by finishing third with 42 points at the five-team Canton Central Catholic Relays May 13 at Massillon Perry High School.
Youngstown Boardman won the competition with 73 points and Massillon Washington scored 55 points.
The following Pioneer relays placed in the top three:
• Shot put: Wajdi Ahemed (49 feet, 2.5 inches) and Derrick Hampton, second, 86-5.5
• High jump: Cole Howard (5-10) and Ian Israelson, second, 11-4
• Pole vault: Charlie Kolodziej (10-6) and Marc Franquesa, second, 20-6
• 6,400-meter relay: Cole Howard, Sasha Davis, Israelson and Daniel Mylott, second, 19 minutes, 28.2 seconds
• 1,500: Will Downing, second, 4:47
• 200 low hurdles: Jack Sovich, second, 26.8
• 3,200 relay: Israelson, Harry Kang, Cole Howard and Mylott, second, 8:36
• 1,600 relay: Davis, Carlos Alvarez Flores, Devin Dhaliwal and Kolodziej, second, 3:43.1
• Long jump: Alvarez Flores and Sovich (19-.75), third, 35-5
• 110 hurdles: Sovich, third, 17.8
• 800 relay: Tim Chen, Isaiah Ezeoke, Alvarez Flores and Kolodziej, third, 1:38.2
