When it comes to the Hudson boys tennis team over the years, the Explorers have claimed much hardware in the Western Reserve Conference and the Northeast Ohio Conference.
Hudson can now add a Suburban League National Conference championship to its trophy case.
The Explorers won their first-ever National Conference title after scoring 34 points at the Suburban League Tournament May 3.
Singles' play took place at Twinsburg High School and doubles' play took place at Cuyahoga Falls High School.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights, which defeated Hudson 3-2 during the regular season, finished second with 32 points. The two teams shared the overall conference championship since the Bees had a perfect 7-0 record during the regular season. The Explorers finished second with a 6-1 record.
Due to weather conditions, the first player to eight won the set.
Hudson's first doubles' team of Sam Yurak and Rob Tobin won the title with a 3-0 record in Twinsburg. Individual scores were not available at press time.
The Explorers second doubles' team of Spencer Rodgers and Wendell Wu was the runner-up with a 2-1 record.
Nicci Polifrone and David Tullett were the runners-up at second and third singles, respectively. They both finished with 2-1 records.
Harrshavasan Congivaram finished 1-2 and placed fourth at first singles.
