The Western Reserve Academy girls lacrosse team's six-match winning streak came to an end after losing to 2016 Division I state runner-up Massillon Jackson 9-1 at the Cleveland Heights Invitational April 29 at the Laurel Butler Campus in Russell.

Julia Gasbarre scored the lone goal for the Pioneers (8-4). Reserve goalie Brooke Barsella made two saves in the cage.

WRA also earned an 11-9 victory over Shaker Heights Laurel April 28 in Russell.

Gasbarre led the way with four goals and one assist and Chloe Beggs had three goals and one assist.

Emily Smithberger contributed two goals for the Pioneers and Abby King and Mackenzie Farber each scored once.

Tia Forsythe added an assist and Barsella made seven saves.

Reserve is set to host Avon Lake May 3 at 5:30 p.m.
