The Hudson baseball team moved a step closer to the Suburban League National Conference title.
The Explorers improved to 15-4 overall and 10-3 in the conference after posting a 5-1 victory over Brecksville-Broadview Heights May 2 at The Ballpark at Hudson.
Hudson took a 5-0 lead with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Explorers had 14 hits and one error and the Bees had four hits and zero errors.
Right-hander Johnny Merrill went the distance on the mound to improve to 3-2. He had 10 strikeouts and two walks.
Hayden Knox had four hits in four at bats and two runs batted in. One of his hits was a double.
Spencer McClure had three hits, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
