The Western Reserve Academy girls track and field team finished fifth with 31.5 points at the 16-team East Palestine Relays April 21.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy won the competition with 84 points and Salem (69), Rootstown (35.5) and Mineral Ridge (33.5) placed second, third and fourth, respectively.

The following Pioneers scored team points:

Shuttles: Amy Zhou, Micayla Brent, Libby Russ and Alicia Ma, fifth, season-best 1 minute, 12.81 seconds

Long jump: Ma (fifth all-time in school history, 16 feet, half inch); and Brent, third, 28-8

1,600: Alex Randazzo, Russ, JJ Je and Zhou, fourth, season-best 4:32.79

High jump: Madison Coleman and Ma, tied for fourth, 8-8

Distance medley relay: Elizabeth Downing, Je, Maggie Corl and Russ, fourth, season-best 14:44.01

6,400: Corl, Mairead Morrissey, Downing and Russ, fifth, season-best 24:58.69

Reserve is scheduled to compete at the Cuyahoga Heights Relays April 29 at 10:30 a.m.
