The Cleveland Indians play the Chicago White Sox at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday in their sold-out home opener.
Here's what to expect if you're heading to Progressive Field:
1. New food
The stadium added a 13th local restaurant this season: Market Garden Brewery, which is based in Ohio City near West Side Market. The brewery's stand will be in Section 133. In addition to beer, the restaurant is debuting a trio of beef sliders, including the Nano slider with beer onions, beer mustard, American cheese and pickles.
Other new food options at other venues in the stadium are: a Po'Man with smoked kielbasa, potato and cheese pierogies, sauerkraut and ballpark mustard; grilled Asian salmon with wasabi foam and fried rice; and veal Parmesan sliders.
2. New technology
Tech upgrades will allow everyone access to free Wi-Fi through the "IndiansWiFi" network. New LED lights were installed and are expected to be brighter while reducing glare and shadows. On the MLB.com Ballpark app, fans can view virtual reality videos.
3. New suites
The suites from the press box to the Terrace Club on the upper level were remodeled into six party suites. They can accommodate groups of 24 to 240.
4. Making their pitch
Three Cleveland sports legends will throw ceremonial first pitches:
Jim Thome, Indians Hall of Famer who played in Cleveland from 1991 to 2002 and in 2011.
Austin Carr, retired Cavaliers player turned television analyst for the team.
Jim Brown, former Cleveland Browns running back and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
5. Pregame festivities
Gates open at 2 p.m. There will be a ceremony about 3 p.m. to celebrate the team's American League championship; players and coaches will receive their rings. The strings section of the Cleveland Orchestra will play the national anthem, the team will honor all branches of the military and a U.S. Air Force F-16 will fly over.
The Indians are 11-12 in home openers since moving to Progressive Field (formerly Jacobs Field) in 1994, with a 1-4 record against the White Sox in five of those games.
