The host Hudson boys tennis team improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Suburban League National Conference after posting a 5-0 victory over North Royalton April 5.

Harrshavasan Congivaram earned a 6-4, 6-3 win at first singles and Nicci Polifrone (6-0, 6-0) had no problems at second singles.

David Tullett posted a convincing 6-1, 6-2 victory at third singles.

The Explorers' doubles teams of Sam Yurak and Rob Tobin (6-3, 6-7, 6-2) and Wending Wu and Spencer Rodgers (6-2, 6-3) also triumphed.

Hudson scored a 4-1 win over Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy April 4 in Stow.

Polifrone earned a hard-fought 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles and Tullett cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at third singles.

The Explorers' doubles teams of Yurak and Tobin (7-5, 6-1) and Wu and Rodgers (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) also prevailed.

Hudson made a stellar 2017 debut April 3.

The host Explorers cruised to a 5-0 victory over National Conference rival Nordonia.

Congivaram (6-0, 6-2), Polifrone (6-0, 6-0) and Tullett (6-0, 6-0) rolled in singles' play and Hudson's doubles' teams of Yurak and Tobin (6-2, 6-3) and Wu and Rodgers (6-0, 6-0) posted easy wins.

Hudson was scheduled to entertain Walsh Jesuit April 6 before heading to the St. Edward Invitational April 8 in Lakewood. Results of those matches were not available at press time.

The Explorers are set to visit National Conference foe Cuyahoga Falls April 10 before returning home to play National Conference rival Stow-Munroe Falls April 12. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
