Aurora High's varsity baseball team improved its record to 3-0 in the young season Wednesday with a 9-7 victory over Barbertpon in a Suburban League American Conference game. The Greenmen also are 3-0 in the conference.

Trevor Mitch was the winning pitcher in relief of starter Chase Coady. Mitch allowed one earned run in 4.2 innings.

Aurora's big inning at the plate was the fourth, when it scored 4 runs after tallying 2 each in the first and third innings. A final run came in the seventh.

The Greenmen are scheduled to play at Shaker Heights on April 6, but rain is in the forecast, and the game could be called off. A game at Mentor is scheduled for April 7.

The Greenmen also are scheduled to play a doubleheader April 8 at Chardon, with the opening game at 11 a.m.
