The Aurora High varsity baseball team opened its season Wednesday with a 6-inning, 21-0 victory over Kent Roosevelt in a Suburban League American Conference matchup.

Chase Coady was the winning pitcher, allowing no runs.

Jonathan Blue and Will Carpenter each clubbed three hits, while Evan Fromwiller, Drew McVay and J.T. Rose each had two. Carpenter and Brent Henderson each drove in three runs.

Weather permitting, the Greenmen are scheduled to host Kent Roosevelt today (Thursday) at 4:30 p.m. Scattered rain showers are in the forecast, though.
