Local gymnasts

excel at 'Luau'

On the weekend of February 10 to 12, eight Stow gymnasts from Flytz Gymnastics competed at the "Luau in Leos" gymnastics meet at Kalahari in Sandusky. This meet hosts thousands of gymnasts from several states. These gymnasts train at Flytz Gymnastics, located at 2900 State Road in Cuyahoga Falls.

Level 8 gymnast Kaileigh Norton was fantastic. Norton placed third on the vault with a 9.225, second on beam with a 9.25 and third all-around with a 36.775.

Level 7 gymnast Kaylee McAfee placed as well. McAfee was firstst on beam with an awesome score of 9.625.

Level 6 gymnasts, Samantha Tokar, Lilly Schalmo, Grace Decker, Isabella Shatraw, and Olivia Sabin, all did great at the competition also.

Tokar got third on the beam with a 9.15. Schalmo placed thrd on the bars with a 9.0. Decker placed 2nd on vault with a 9.325.

Shatraw placed 3rd on the beam with a 9.225. Sabin placed secnd on the bars with a 9.15, second on beam with a 9.35 and scond nd all-around with a score of 36.425.

In addition, these girls all contributed to a third place in the Team competition.

Level 3 gymnast Ellie Snyder did fantastic with a second place finish on the bars with a score of 9.175, and third all-around with a 36.3. Snyder also helped bring her team to third place finish for the Level 3 Team competition.

Flytz gymnasts were set to travel to Bowling Green March 17-19 for the Optional State Meet, but results were not available at press time. Flytz will head to Niles for the Compulsory State Meet March 24 to 26.
