Stow-Munroe Falls High School senior Kennedy Adams of Stow has signed with the Marian University (Indianapolis) Cycling Team for fall 2017. She was the first commit to the Cycling Knights for next season and will compete in the cyclocross and road disciplines. Kennedy is pictured with Coach Dean Peterson. Adams has six years of racing under her belt and currently rides for the Women's Cyclocross Project Team out of Cincinnati. "I remember when I was little, wanting to go to Marian," said Adams. "Now it is happening." Kennedy will study pre-med/biology with a minor in exercise physiology. She is considering medical school and believes the academics at Marian will set her up well for launching beyond undergraduate studies. "Kennedy has been on our radar for several years and we are happy to kick off this next recruiting cycle with her commitment," said Coach Peterson. "She is an excellent and driven student, and is no stranger to high-level road and cyclocross competition." Kennedy has been in the top-10 of several National Championship races, including, most recently, sixth place in the junior 17-18 women's criterium at Road Nationals this summer. She was also sixth at cyclocross nationals in the same division last January. Outside of cycling, she is a member of the National Honors Society and leads cycling clinics for younger riders.
