Nordonia senior 195-pounder Anthony Perrine is on the brink of history.

By winning two matches March 10 at the Division I state wrestling tournament, Perrine has a chance to become Nordonia's first state wrestling champion since Ryan Lange in 1999.

Perrine opened the day by scoring a 10-4 win over Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller's Brett Bryant.

The victory sent Perrine to the semifinals, where he faced Delaware Hayes' Max Wright in a rematch of the final of the Top Gun Tournament, which Wright won.

Perrine got the lone takedown of the match, as he held on for a 5-3 decision win.

Perrine takes a record of 30-3 in the state final, where he will face Lakewood St. Edward's Dakota Howard. The championship matches at the state tournament will begin at 5:45 p.m. March 11 at Value City Arena in Columbus.
