The second-seeded Walsh Jesuit ice hockey team earned a berth in the Kent district semifinals after posting a 4-2 victory over fifth-seeded Mentor Lake Catholic Feb. 22 at Kent State University Ice Arena.
With the win, the Warriors earned a date against third-seeded Shaker Heights in a district semifinal game March 25. Results were not available at press time.
The Raiders advanced with a 3-0 win over Mentor.
Steven LaVasseur had two goals and an assist and Isiah Konn and Max Miotke each scored once for Walsh, which had a 3-1 lead after two periods. Miotke also had an assist.
Adam Romanski added two assists and Logan Rossiter had one assist for the Warriors.
Walsh goaltender Jakhari Desphy made 20 saves between the pipes.
