SENIORS ACTIVITIES

Aurora Seniors meet weekdays in the Walker Building.

Among activities are: Gentle yoga Fridays at 10 a.m., Arthritis Foundation exercise Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:30 p.m., bingo Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., chair volleyball Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 1:45 p.m.

Also, there are watercolor painting Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m., knitting Thursdays at 1 p.m. and penny poker, canasta and euchre Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m.; walking videos Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9 a.m., beginning Tai Chi on Thursdays at 9 a.m. and mahjong lessons Wednesdays at 1 p.m.

Some other activities are blood pressure and glucose screening clinics the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m.

Tech Tuesdays are offered from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Walker Building, when students from Harmon School and AHS will help seniors perform various tasks with laptops, digital cameras, e-readers, tablets and phones.

A Presidents Day luncheon will be today (Feb. 22) at noon. A cabin fever luncheon will be Feb. 27 at noon. Lunch and a tour of Maplewood at Twinsburg will be March 13 at 11:30 a.m. and a St. Patrick's Day luncheon will be March 15 at noon.

Lunch and bingo will be March 31 at the Avenue at Aurora. The Retired Old Men Eating Out group will visit Chicago Deli in Solon on March 16 and Station 43 in Bainbridge on April 20.

An AARP driver safety program will be offered March 24 from noon to 4 p.m. with signups required by March 22. Free income tax assistance is available through the AARP Tax-Aide program. For details, call 330-297-4636.

A salad recipe exchange will be April 3 at noon, an Indians home opener party will be April 11 at 3:30 p.m. at the Atrium at Anna Maria, lunch and learn will be April 17 at noon and breakfast and bingo will be April 24 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Heartland of Twinsburg.

Trips coming up are: Feb. 24 -- Severance Hall for Cleveland Orchestra; Feb. 26 -- Kent State University for "Kiss Me Kate"; March 1 -- Cleveland Museum of Art; March 8 -- brown bag concert at Trinity Cathedral in Cleveland; March 13 -- Packard Music Hall for the Dublin Tenors and Celtic Women; March 20 -- lunch bunch to Slyman's in Independence.

March 22 -- Mahoning Valley Casino in Youngstown; March 23 -- Palace Theater for "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time"; March 28 -- Cleveland Monsters game; March 29 -- "Hamlet" at Hanna Theater; March 30 -- "Jesus Christ Superstar" at Weathervane Playhouse; March 31 -- Severance Hall for Handel's Royal Fireworks Music; April 5 -- Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

The parks-rec department is in the Walker Building on West Pioneer Trail. Hours are weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
