Aurora High's varsity girls basketball squad took over first place in the Suburban League American Conference standings Saturday with a 44-38 victory over Revere.

The Greenmen are 8-1 in the conference, while Revere and Tallmadge each are 7-2. Aurora has one more game against Tallmadge.

No individual scoring statistics were available from the Aurora-Revere contest.

Meanwhile, the Greenmen boys topped Suburban League rival Kent Roosevelt 72-43 on Friday night. Gavin Blunt and Zach Elsawy each scored 12 points, while Jack Arnold and Cade Huffman each contributed 11. James Robinson had 7.

The Greenmen girls will host Medina Highland on Monday night in a game which was rescheduled from Jan. 25.
