The Nordonia boys basketball team earned a 44-40 victory over Suburban League National Conference rival Hudson Jan. 27 at Hudson High School's Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.
The Knights (2-13, 1-6) led by as many as 13 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Explorers rallied to cut their deficit to one.
Hudson (5-9, 1-6) had a chance to take the lead late in the game, but the Explorers could not capitalize.
Ryan Smith made four straight free throws in the last 26 seconds. Nordonia was 9-of-12 from the charity stripe down the stretch.
Spencer McClure led Hudson with a game-high 19 points. Tye Evans finished with 10 points for the Knights.
