AURORA -- The Greenmen swimmers had a tough time against Copley last week as the boys and girls both lost. In dual meets this season, the girls are 4-4 and the boys are 2-6.

Aurora managed four first-place finishes. They were Hannah Wilk in the 50 freestyle (25.47), Lara Ketonen in 100 free (56.29), and Whitney Lieberth (1:15.36) and Tyler Hayes(1:15.13) in 100 breaststroke.

Taking second were:

Paulina Galchensko in 200 free (2:14.08), girls 200 medley relay of Ketonen, Lieberth, Marissa Henderson and Abbey Stechler (2:01.92), Lauren Sapochetti in 200 individual medley (2:33.7) and 100 breaststroke (1:17.2), girls 200 free relay of Stechler, Sapochetti, Madeline Schmitt and Ketonen (:50.3) and boys 200 free relay of Gunnar Meyer, Hayes, John Bender and Nicholas Belofsky (1:50.42).

Taking third were:

Belofsky in 100 free (1:01.58) and 50 free (26.46), Kristina Vidziunas )6:07.18) and Bender (6:23.61) in 500 free, girls 200 free relay of Galchenko, Kylie Palian, Lieberth and Julia Brezovec (1:56.04), Alex Bailey in 100 backstroke (1:13.39).

Girls 400 free relay of Galchenko, Schmitt, Henderson and Sapochetti (4:16.96), Bender in 200 free (2:10.41), Meyer in 200 IM (2:31.6) and 100 butterfly (1:120.82), Henderson in 100 butterfly (1:1.99) and Stechler in 100 free (1:00.66).

In the coming week, the Greenmen will swim against Mentor on Jan. 20 at the Spire Institute and against Tallmadge on Jan. 25 at the Hiram College pool.
