The Western Reserve Academy girls soccer team improved to 4-0 on the season after posting a 2-1 victory over Hathaway Brown in Shaker Heights.
In the 13th minute, Abby King managed a shot that deflected off the crossbar. the Pioneers’ Zoe McCormick picked up the rebound, poking it home for the game’s first goal.
Just before halftime, Reserve cleared a Hathaway Brown corner kick, then Sam Haseltine drove a long pass up to King, who beat the goalie from 15 yards.
The Blazers got one back early in the second half, but were unable to find the equalizer as Maria Paparella made five of her seven saves in the second half.
