The host Hudson girls tennis team improved to 3-2 in 2014 after posting a 4-1 victory over Northeast Ohio Conference rival Cuyahoga Falls Aug. 20.

Isabelle Mawby (6-2, 6-4) and Jenny Gan (7-6, 6-0) triumphed in first and third singles, respectively, for the Lady Explorers.

Hudson's first doubles teams of Grace Graham and Cassidy Lewis (6-2, 6-0) and second doubles team of Lindsey Tanner and Lucy Sachtleben (6-4, 6-4) also cruised to straight-set wins.

The Lady Explorers lost a 3-2 decision to Kenston Aug. 18 in Chagrin Falls.

Mawby (7-5, 7-6) won at second singles and Hudson's second doubles team of Sachtleben and Istabraq Dalieh (6-4, 7-5) also triumphed.

The Lady Explorers were scheduled to visit Orange Aug. 21 in Pepper Pike. Results were not available at press time.

They are set to visit Western Reserve Academy Aug. 26 before returning home to play Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division rival Mentor Aug. 27.

Both matches are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
