The Western Reserve Academy boys cross country team finished third with 78 points at the George Clements Invitational Aug. 23 in Hunting Valley.

University won with 24 points and Shaker Heights took second with 51 points.

Danny Mylott placed fifth out of 145 runners with a time of 18 minutes, 27 seconds to lead the Pioneers.

Colin Horgan finished seventh (18:35).

Rounding out the top five for Reserve were Max Borrmann (12th, 18:59), Sammy Bluso (25th, 19:45) and Peter Thewissen (29th, 20:01).

The WRA girls placed 18th with 526 points at the 22-team Berkshire Invitational Aug. 23 in Burton.

Berkshire won the competition with 89 points.

Elizabeth Downing led the Lady Pioneers with a 70th-place time of 23:47.2.

Rounding out the top five for the Pioneers were Nina Tekelenburg (103rd, 24:40.6), Catherine Berry (128th, 25:59.9), Anna Ballard (159th, 27:31.2) and Mika Takahashi (161st, 27:39.2).
