The fourth annual Andrea Rose Teodosio Memorial Run is scheduled to take place July 12 at Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron.

The 5K race is set to take place at 8 a.m. and the The Kids' Fun Run is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.

The Andrea Rose Teodosio Memorial Run is expected to attract more than 800 runners and walkers and to raise more than $35,000 to benefit the Andrea Rose Teodosio Foundation.

The Foundation assists the underprivileged and elderly, addresses environmental issues and promotes community service and education in Akron and surrounding areas.

"The Foundation is honored to display the values that Andrea held dear to her heart," said Carol Peter, event organizer. "Andrea always compassionately cared for others and through the funds raised by this race, that compassion lives on."

Andrea Rose Teodosio, daughter of Judges Tom and Linda Teodosio, died in a skiing accident in 2011.

The Andrea Rose Teodosio Foundation hosts numerous events and programs including "The A. Rose Project," which provides gently worn formal dresses to girls who desire to attend their prom or homecoming, college scholarships and the "Easy to be Green" program, which provides raised gardens to nursing homes and adult day centers.

Registration for The Andrea Rose Teodosio Run is $25 if registered by July 8 and $30 thereafter. Registration includes racing fees, chip timing and a commemorative tech T-shirt.

Pre-packet pick-up is set for July 11 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. at the Andrea Rose Teodosio booth at Lock 3 Park. The course is on a level path along Main Street and the Towpath.

Participants can register in advance at or in person on the day of the race at the check-in table from 7 to 7:45 a.m.
