The Hudson boys lacrosse team posted a 13-6 victory over University May 13 in Hunting Valley.

The Explorers, who earned their fourth straight victory, improved to 11-4 on the season.

Hudson put the game away with a 6-0 spurt in the second quarter. University made a charge, but the Explorers took control in the fourth quarter by exploiting the transition game and overwhelming the Preppers with their depth.

Grant Elffers earned the game ball with two goals, two assists and three ground balls.

Matt Rightnour added a goal, an assist and three ground balls to share the game ball.

He also made two big defensive stops.

Zach Nye had four goals and an assist and Mick Mougey finished with three goals and one assist for Hudson.

Michael Charlton added two goals and Gabe Vehar scored once for the Explorers. Bo Lori finished with two assists and Kyle Ator had one assist. Hudson goalkeeper Jake Krone made four saves.

The Explorers outshot the Preppers 46-18 and had a 59-31 advantage in ground balls. Hudson won 18 of 23 face-offs and committed 22 turnovers. University (6-5) finished with 33 miscues.

The Explorers were scheduled to host Kent Roosevelt May 16 at Hudson Memorial Stadium. Results were not available at press time.

The Division I regional tournament is scheduled to begin May 22.
