Sarah Faust, a 2013 Hudson graduate, recently decided to continue her academic and volleyball careers at Wittenberg University in Springfield.

Faust, a 6-foot outside hitter, was a three-year varsity starter with the Lady Explorers. She was a first-team All-Northeast Ohio Conference Lake Division performer last year and she helped Hudson win sectional titles in 2011 and 2012.

Faust compiled 675 kills during her high school career.

"Sarah is a strong, physical player at the net who brings great size to the outside position," said Wittenberg head coach Paco Labrador. "She is a focused athlete and student who understands the game well and has had great training in high school and club."

Faust played on the National Team for Elite Sports Ohio for four years. Also active in local, regional and national charity work for the Arthritis Foundation, Faust graduated from Hudson High School with an honors diploma. She plans to major in business at Wittenberg.

Wittenberg has regularly posted one of the best team grade point averages in the nation and has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association for its academic performance with a prestigious Team Academic Award following nine of the last 11 seasons.

The Tigers concluded the 2012 season with a 27-5 record, including a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play. Wittenberg won both the North Coast Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament titles for the 17th time in the past 18 years and the Tigers advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament round of 16 before losing to eventual national runner-up Calvin on the road in five sets.
