Three Hudson tennis players competed in Division I district play May 23 at Oberlin College.
Steven Boslet still had a chance to reach the state meet as of press time.
The third-seeded Boslet earned a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Mayfield’s Shouta Fukamachi, the third seed, in his first match.
Boslet lost a 6-4, 6-3 decision to top-seeded Nathan Griffin of Cleveland St. Ignatius in his next match.
Therefore, Boslet is scheduled to play Massillon Jackson’s Jake Zalinsky May 25 at 9 a.m. The winner advances to the state meet.

The Explorers’ doubles team of Dominic Polifrone and Michael Wolowiecki lost a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Westlake’s pair of Connor Michelich and Cal Craven in their first match. As a result, their season is over.

Walsh Jesuit’s Aaron Sandberg, a No. 2 seed reached the state tournament for the third time.
He posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Uniontown Lake’s Dale Booher in his first match and then scored a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Vince Anzalone to punch his ticket to the state meet.
Sandberg is scheduled to play against Jackson’s Joey Thomas for one of the top four seeds May 25.


The Twinsburg-Brunswick and Hudson-Medina Highland baseball Division I district semifinal games have been postponed due to inclement weather.

The Twinsburg-Brunswick game is scheduled to take place May 24 at 2 p.m. and the Hudson-Highland game is set to follow at 5 p.m.

The district title game is scheduled to take place May 25 at 2 p.m. All three games are set to take place at The Ballpark at Hudson.


Several Hudson boys lacrosse players were voted to the Ohio School Lacrosse Association Division I Northeast Region teams.

Attackmen Bo Lori and Zach Nye, midfielder Mick Mougey, defenseman Sam Riddell, face-off specialist and goalie Tyler Zickel were named to the first team and midfielder Grant Elffers and defenseman Logan Malson were voted to the second team.
