The Walsh Jesuit ice hockey team earned a rematch with Shaker Heights after posting a convincing 9-3 victory in the third round of the Kent district tournament Feb. 22 at Kent State University Ice Arena.

With the win, the fourth-seeded Warriors (23-10-2) earned a date with top-seeded Shaker, which scored a 2-1 overtime win against Walsh in the Baron Cup, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

The Warriors led 3-1 after two periods and 7-3 after the first 30 minutes. Ben Romanski led Walsh with two goals and three assists and Dawson DiPietro had two goals and one assist. Nick Musgrave also had three assists for the Warriors.

Joel Ruane, Lucas Matson, Chris Gaul, Jack Huscroft and Todd Lambert each had one goal for Walsh. Huscroft added an assist and Jake Atkinson also had an assist.

Luke Sunde scored all three goals for the Royals (18-13) and Mark Sunde had two assists. Will Anderson and Tucker Anderson each had one assist for CVCA.

Goaltender Jamie Studer made 19 saves for the Warriors. CVCA goaltender Jonah Savitt had 46 saves. Walsh had a 55-22 shots'-on-goal advantage.
