The Nordonia High School girls basketball team honored its senior class during its final home game of the 2012-13 regular season Feb. 6, battling Suburban League rival Revere in the process.

However, the Lady Knights weren't able to emerge victorious, falling by the score of 55-44.

There are six seniors on this year's squad. Those six are guard Nataly Ciocca, guard Aysa Shine, forward Allyson Carpenter, guard Hannah Woodall, forward Brandy Richards and guard Brittany Simon.

Unfortunately, Nordonia did not start the game well. Revere jumped to a 15-4 lead in the first quarter.

The Lady Knights outscored the Lady Minutemen 14-8 during the second stanza to cut their deficit to 23-18 at intermission.

Revere hung onto its lead in the second half, scoring 16 points in both the third stanza and the fourth frame. Ultimately, Nordonia wasn't able to stage a comeback.

Junior forward Morgan Mitchell led the Lady Knights offensively. She was the only Nordonia player to reach double digits in scoring with 12 points.

In addition, both freshman guard Katie Karalic and sophomore guard Meghan Reilly tallied six points. Three players contributed four points apiece -- Shine, sophomore guard Brandy Merritt and sophomore center Hannah Stroe.

Three Nordonia players accounted for two points apiece. They were Ciocca, Richards and junior forward Brook Harter.

With the loss, Nordonia's overall record slid to 7-14. The Lady Knights are now 3-10 in league action.

Revere, meanwhile, improved its overall mark to 13-8.

Caitlin Vari enjoyed a huge game for the Lady Minutemen, pouring in 30 points, while Camryn Brown added 18 markers.

Nordonia has one more game left on its regular-season schedule. The Lady Knights will travel to conference counterpart Green Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

The Division I district tournament draw was held recently at Akron Ellet High School.

As a result of the draw, Nordonia will play the winner of the Hudson-Warren Howland game Feb. 23.
