Aurora -- After suffering their fourth straight defeat earlier last week, Aurora High School's varsity girls basketball team got back on the winning track with a 54-42 victory over Perry on the road on Jan. 18

The effort raised the girls' record to 4-3 in the Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division and 9-4 overall. The girls had won their first eight contests of the season before suffering four consecutive losses.

No individual scoring statistics were available from the Perry game.

Meanwhile, the boys varsity basketball team fell to 1-12 with a 73-55 loss to Solon. Ben Branscom led the locals with 17 points, while Drew Daff added 13.
