by Ken LahmersEditorIn addition to the Greenmen, two other Chagrin Valley Conference schools and three other Portage County schools will play in the first round of the Ohio high school football playoffs this weekend.Perry, which matched Aurora's 9-1 overall record and 6-1 CVC mark and finished fifth in its Division IV region in computer points, will travel to Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (8-2) on Nov. 3.The Pirates were the only team to beat Aurora this year, and their only loss was to West Geauga.Kirtland (8-2), the CVC's Valley Division champion and eighth-place team in its Division V region, will travel to South Range (10-0), the top-rated squad, on Nov. 2.In Portage County, Ravenna (8-2) will play at Lake Catholic (6-4) in Division III on Nov. 2, while Field (9-1) will be off to face top-rated Walsh Jesuit (8-1) the same night.The other Portage County or CVC team to host a first-round contest is Mogadore (9-1), which will entertain Columbiana (7-3) in Division VI on Nov. 3.After the first-round games are completed, all future playoffs matchups will take place on neutral fields.Other games involving Cleveland-Akron area teams are as follows:NOV. 2 -- (Division II) Madison (7-3) at Warren Howland (10-0), Akron Firestone (7-3) at Tallmadge (9-1), Cleveland South (8-2) at Parma Normandy (8-2) and Mayfield (7-3) at Parma Padua (7-3).(Division III) Hubbard (7-3) at Rocky River (10-0); (Division V) Bedford Chanel (6-4) at Youngstown Ursuline (8-2) and Vienna Mathews (10-0) at Gilmour Academy (8-1).NOV. 3 -- (Division I) Painesville Riverside (7-3) at Mentor (7-2), Cleveland Glenville (8-2) at St. Ignatius (8-2), Boardman (7-3) at Euclid (9-1), North Royalton (9-1) at Solon (8-2).Canton Glen Oak (6-4) at Brunswick (10-0), Toledo St. John's (6-4) at North Canton Hoover (8-2), Perrysburg (8-2) at Nordonia (9-1) and Wadsworth (9-1) at Toledo Whitmer (8-2).
