by Advocate StaffersAuroran Mark Telerico of Barrington Golf Club teamed with David Stover to win the AA Division championship in the Northern Ohio Golf Association's four-ball championship.The two 18-hole rounds were played at Oberlin Golf Club on May 17 and Avalon Lakes on May 22.Telerico and Stover shot 72-64-136. Tying for fourth place were Walden Golf and Tennis Club members Larry Lahnan and Doug Hauenstein with 72-70-142.Other division results in the four-ball championship include the following:Division A -- Paul McGhee of Aurora G&CC and Darrell McNair of Signature of Solon (148, 5 strokes behind the winners) and Tom Wasson and Russ Turell of AG&CC (152); Division B -- Bill Kodatsky and Jay Walter of AG&CC (153, 2 strokes behind the winners).+ + +Aurora High School's girls golf team is looking for a few eighth-grade girls who are interested in becoming a part of the high school girls golf program in the fall.Beginners are welcome. His time was 33:30.Meanwhile, Auroran Jim DeMay finished second in men ages 20 to 24 and 73rd overall (23:31) in the Lake County Captains 5K charity run recently, while his mom, Sue, finished first in women 50 to 54 and 137th overall (26:56). + + +The Ravenna Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring the Marlene Watt Memorial 5K fun run-walk. The event will be June 16 at 9 a.m. at Ravenna City Park, Oakwood and Highland avenues. Registering by June 1 will guarantee a T-shirt. Entry fee is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the race.
