The American Legion Family would like to thank everyone who made the 2017 Memorial Day Parade a success. It turned out to be a beautiful morning for the parade. As always the City of Hudson employees are very efficient in all that they do to make the parade a successful and safe event. The road crew and police department and all City of Hudson employees are always on the job and help make the parade run smoothly. There were challenges this year with the construction along Main Street but I would like to thank the City of their many updates on the progress of the road and getting the street in safe order for the parade.
I would like to thank those that assist me in bringing the parade down the street and to the community. The assistant parade coordinators - Lori Shields, Renee Kohl, Sandy Borovicka, Debbie Garrison, Jim Rothgery and Gino Merlotti. The program at the cemetery is always well done with the help of Pat Hall, Don and Patty Cook, A.J. Stokes and American Fireworks. Thank you to our renown Hudson speaker Tom Vince. The American Legion members Jim Garrison, Al Tinquist and Clark Wonderland for their assistance in the flag raising in the park and cemetery. Also thanks to Barb Mansfield and the Western Reserve Christian Church for hosting the post parade luncheon.
I would like to thank the FOP Lodge #123 and FOPA Lodge #68 for their generous donation this year and in years past to assist us with the expenses for this event.
Everyone volunteers their time to make this event possible for all to enjoy. Thank you everyone for joining us Memorial Day to pay tribute to our fallen soldiers that paid the ultimate sacrifice for us and our country.
