I would like to comment on the Front Street project. How does the city justify spending $13-plus million on removing all the bricks and opening the street up to traffic when just about every side street in the city is riddled with potholes? I hit one on a rainy morning and the hole was filled with water, making it impossible to see how big or how deep it was. I had to replace a bent rim and damaged tire.

Before the city should spend any money on the "Front Street project," our streets should be paved and not patched. Leave the bricks on Front Street and bring in businesses that attract more people and the problem would be solved. During busy times, traffic is already a problem on Portage Trail and that problem would only escalate with Front Street open to traffic.
