As many are aware, the Northfield Center Fire Station was vandalized shortly after a 6-mill levy did not pass, with 1,072 voting against and only 223 voting for back in August of 2016.

I was proud to be a part of that victory and supported the vote "against" at the polls that day. While standing outside of the polls, a few men yelled out out to myself and others, "You will pay for this!"

At the time, I thought the words were just out of anger, but after seeing what happened to the fire station, I think it was a warning of what was to come: Over $10,000 worth of damage.

I don't think it's right, nor do I think it's fair that myself, the township, or any of the Northfield Center residents should have to pay in any way for the damage that was caused by this vandalism. Whatever happened to this case? Why have we not heard anything about it since it has happened? There are too many unanswered questions that I feel need to be addressed.

We are taxpaying citizens. We have the right to know who did this. I am disgusted and feel that it was a disgrace to our township. This matter should be looked into immediately and an explanation should be given as to where it now stands.
