At the Jan. 12 Macedonia City Council meeting, a first reading of Ord. 9-2017 was made. Under it, the city would impose a permanent charge of $3 per month, per residential unit for the leaf removal program.

I have lived here 44 years and never raked my leaves to the street. I chopped them up with my mower. I have never had my leaves picked up.

Myself and residents who do not put their leaves by the street still would be charged the $3 per month. This stinks to high heaven.

Residents should let their Councilors and the mayor know that this is a "No, no."
