I witnessed one of
the best examples of a kangaroo court I've ever seen at the Dec. 11 Board of Education meeting.
The members of the Board's minds -- in regard to rehiring Treasurer Jeff Hostetler -- were made up long before the meeting ever took place.
In my opinion, it didn't matter how many people showed up at the meeting or what they had to say. I believe some well-explored options were just cast aside by the Board.
The Board made a big deal over saving taxpayers $50,000 over a five-year period, when they could have saved that much in one year if they would've considered other options, such as sharing a treasurer with another school district.
I also have a hard time accepting the fact that a man who doesn't live in Tallmadge and doesn't pay Tallmadge property taxes has the say in how my tax dollars should be spent.
