I would like to respond to a letter to the editor on common sense. Common sense? I had no idea there could be so many ways to view that term.

According to the letter writer, I should have had the common sense to vote "Yes" on Issue 10 May 8.

Did the letter writer not take into account the facts? The facts are that my wife and I live on a fixed income. The facts are that when my expenses such as gasoline, utilities, food, insurance and taxes are raised, my quality of life decreases. I would hope not to the extent of losing my home, but it does happen. It has happened.

I'm sorry to the letter writer for not supporting the school system. I would like to. I own a nice car. I would like to own a better one. Common sense tells me I cannot afford to do so.
