Annie D. Murphy died July 1, 2017 after a four-year fight against lung cancer. Born and raised in College Park, Maryland, Annie has lived in Parsippany, New Jersey since 1983. A non-profit professional for all her career, Annie co-founded Creature Comfort Pet Therapy, an organization that provided company and comfort to thousands, with hundreds of wonderful dogs and trainers.
She was an avid hiker and biker and traveled much of the world. At home Annie was a runner, gardener, reader, a knitter and above all a loyal and generous friend.
Annie is survived by two sisters, Liz Murphy (Greg Wybel) of Hudson, Ohio and Katie Schick of Hyattsville, Maryland, nephew Andrew Schick, nieces Mary Schneider and Suzie Schick, cousins Polly Spalding, John Snow, James Snow, Melinda Snow and cousin and goddaughter Katherine Snow. Kenny Bergendahl and Sandy VanDusen joined Liz and Katie as loving caretakers during Annie's final illness. Annie will be tremendously missed by the many wonderful friends and animals that she leaves behind. Special friends are too numerous to mention, but they, along with dogs Rosie and Lola and Wilbur the cat, kept Annie's spirits up till the end.
A celebration of Annie's life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Fellowship Hall ( 21 Normandy Heights Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960). In lieu of flowers, Annie asks for donations to Creature Comfort Pet Therapy (PO Box 872, Morris Plains NJ 07950), Atlantic Home Care & Hospice (465 South Street, Morristown, NJ 07960) or a charity of your choice.
