Linda G. Smearsoll, of Stow, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 due to a car accident.
She was born on October 16, 1964 in Warren, Ohio and graduated from Champion High School in 1983. Linda received a Bachelor Of Arts in English and a minor in Journalism from Kent State University in 1987. She always considered her highest achievement to be her children, Karen E. Smearsoll of Akron, Ohio and Kevin A. Smearsoll of Madison, Wisconsin. Linda let it be known that her roles were always as a mother first and a managing editor at the Cleveland Clinic second. She excelled in both of these roles.
She was a lover of music, movies, words and all animals. Truly a unique soul, she was both perceptive and empathetic to the needs of others. Her smile and enthusiasm were unprecedented. She had a way of making those around her feel better with just a word or a simple touch. A true band groupie, Linda enjoyed attending her favorite artists' concerts, regardless of the distance she had to travel. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she influenced.
Linda was especially close to her brother, Curt Sowers (Charlotte, NC). They were inseparable and Curt provided much support in all aspects of her life, and she was always someone he could count on. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alberta E. Sowers (Higley) and her father, Frank R. Sowers.
A Celebration Of Life will be held at Rejoice Lutheran Church (Hudson, Ohio) on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 2 pm. Pastor Michael Conklin will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Linda's name to any animal advocacy group of your choosing.
