Harvey Moreland Parvin, 90, of Cuyahoga Falls passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 30, 2017 after a brief illness. Born on October 11th, 1926 in Akron, Ohio to the late Joseph Elmer Parvin and Bessie (Moreland) Parvin, he was the devoted husband of Shirley (Trettel) Parvin for 68 years.

Harvey was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls, attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and was a fourth degree knight in the Knights of Columbus as well as a VFW member. Employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for nearly 40 years, Harvey retired in 1988 having served as a mechanic and rigger in various local Goodyear plants. As a U.S. Navy veteran of the Second World War, Harvey was involved in the landing at Normandy and serving on the USS Oglethorpe. He was injured in the line of duty.

Before entering the service in the 1940's he graduated from Kenmore High School.

Fishing trips to Canada, traveling with his family and tinkering in his home garage making various small furniture items were a few of his passions in his free time.

Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, son, David, daughter, Gloria Settle; grandsons, Emerson (Sue) Settle, Jonathan (Mandy) Settle, and great-grandsons, Mark King and Nathan Settle.

Visitation hours took place at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial was held June 7th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment at Western Reserve National Cemetery.
