Edmund Lucien Sunday, devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle; passed away peacefully at Concordia at Sumner nursing facility in Copley, Ohio on Saturday, April 22, 2017 following a long illness. Born on June 30, 1922 in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, his family eventually emigrated to Akron, Ohio. Edmund was self employed his entire life making his living as watchmaker and jeweler, both skills having been self taught and perfected. Edmund was also a very talented guitarist and jazz music aficionado, playing with several local area bands for several decades. He was a man of great faith and a devoted Christian. Edmund was preceded in death by his mother and father Paul and Mary (nee DeFrancesco) Sunday, precious daughter Barbara Jo Sunday White, and sister Antoinette Saccogna. He leaves behind his loving, steadfast, and devoted wife of 72 years, Agnes, son and daughter in law Edmund Paul and Carolyn Sunday, brother Arthur D. Sunday, sister Rose and brother in law Marvin Ford, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation for friends and relatives will be held at Adams Mason Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 25, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 26 at 11:00am at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (83 Mosser Place in Akron). Interment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, Ohio. The family will welcome relatives and friends at a reception immediately following at the Carovillese Club 570 East Cuyahoga Falls Ave Akron OH 44310.
